TV Inspired Raleigh Wedding DJ at Market Hall
Powerful Love Story and a Love of Sitcoms Help Create a Memorable Wedding
Creative Raleigh Couple Incorporates their love of Sitcoms to help make their wedding day something uniquely personal and delightfully idiosyncratic.
I’m going to try something a little different for this post. Instead of doing a complete rundown of everything (which I may still do a little later), I’m going to put some of the images up and show you a little bit about how we keep track of everything, especially at an event like this with so many moving parts.
When we’re looking at a Raleigh wedding in a post-industrial space it doesn’t get much better than Market View / ParkView at Market Hall (formerly 214 Martin). With two separate spaces for ceremony and reception, a cool patio area along the brick stricks, and a great historic vibe, you’ve got plenty of room. But it also calls for plenty of BOOM. You’ll notice there are 4 subwoofers and 4 tops for the reception space. We only needed two subs and two tops for the ceremony along with the requisite microphones for everyone who’ll be speaking during the event.
This particular couple, Liz & Anthony, were creative, compassionate, and full of really unique ideas to make their wedding day as uniquely them as they wanted it to be. Their love of sitcoms led to a really fun way of releasing table during dinner because each table was assigned a sitcom instead of a number. That meant that whenever I played the theme from that sitcom – the tables could make their way to the buffet. This required some very tight coordination with superstar wedding coordinator Nicole Conder and Market Hall Rep Audrey.
This wedding also featured a large NC State contingent (of course it would, we’re in Raleigh baby!), so there was a special NC State Alumni photo op and fight song shoutout! Go Wolfpack!

Ceremony Highlights:
Prelude Music Type: instrumental, mostly guitar, covers of pop & pop/rock songs
I found some really fun instrumental ACOUSTIC (like in bridgerton) covers of pop and pop/rock songs on Spotify. Doesn’t have to be all or these exactly, but my favorites are “Take on Me (Instrumental Guitar) by Go Fret; “Malibu – Instrumental” and “Bad Guy – Instrumental” by Guitar Tribute Players. Also by them: “Sunday Best – Instrumental”, “Island In The Sun”, “Cool – Instrumental”, “Africa – Instrumental”, “Old Town Road – Instrumental”, “Watermelon Sugar – Instrumental”, “Havana – Instrumental”, “My House”

AUDREY IS MARKET HALL BRIDAL COORDINATOR – 3 BRIDAL PARTY TABLES RELEASED FIRST
Dinner Music Type: TV sitcom theme songs
Dinner Music special request: In addition to numbering tables, I am assigning each a title of one of my favorite sitcoms. I would LOVE if the theme songs to these shows could be played as the tables are released for dinner. And then songs related played in between tables. Example: New Girl theme plays for New Girl table, then play “Anything Could Happen” by Elllie Goulding (song from pivotal moment in the show). If it’s too complicated to play the song corresponding to the table being released to the buffet, that’s understandable. It’d be great if the themes and related songs could play during dinner regardless.
Tables: 1 Parks & Recreation, 2 Arrested Development, 3 New Girl, 4 Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 5 Friends, 6 The Office, 7 Scrubs, 8 Schitt’s Creek, 9 Superstore, 10 Community, 11 Seinfeld, 12 30 Rock, 13 How I Met Your Mother, 14 The Golden Girls, 15 Modern Family. If you let me know how much this can be incorporated, I’ll add information like related songs and likely order they’ll be dismissed for buffet.
