Hillside Farm in Henderson NC w/Photo Booth & Uplighting

Stylus SE -Summer Wedding - DJ Photo Booth and Lighting - Oaks at Salem in Apex, NC

Here at Stylus, we’ve had the delightful fortune to work with some of the most beautiful venues that North Carolina has to offer. Located about an hour away from Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Chapel Hill, Clayton, and RTP, this beautiful venue is easily accessible for those in and traveling to the Triangle. Ideally located just outside the Triangle (just a short drive from Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Chapel Hill, and RTP),  Hillside Farms in Henderson, NC is a very popular venue for many couples around the Triangle and beyond.
Many people don’t realize that Henderson, NC is a town with a rich history of economic growth and has produced some really talented names in music.  Henderson was chartered in 1841 after roughly 6 years of rapid growth due to its convenient location to the Gaston Railroad, which was completed in 1835. One of the most exciting musicians to come out of Henderson is the infamous Ben E. King. Yes, THAT one! Ben E. King is most known for his hit song, Stand By Me, which also happens to be one of THE most popular wedding songs of all time. Fun fact about this song: the title was inspired by a “spiritual” written by Same Cooke and J.W Alexander that went by the name of “Stand By Me Father” and was performed by The Soul Stirrers.
“Spirituals are a genre of American folk music that articulate the suffering, longing, and religious passion of African Americans during slavery and its aftermath. Religious hymns, work songs, along with traditional African rhythms and chanting styles all contributed to the development of spirituals.
Spirituals are an excellent example of folk music. In modern parlance, the term ‘folk music’ is often used to describe virtually any type of music played on an acoustic guitar. Folk music is not, however, a style or genre of music; it is a process through which music is created and performed. As the folklorist Dan Ben-Amos has argued, folk music is created by a community over a period of time and must be understood in the cultural context in which it is collectively composed, adapted, performed, and experienced by audiences. Spirituals are a tradition that falls under this categorization very well and must be understood in the context of the African American slave experience.” ( Spirituals: Definition, History & Artists, 2016 )
Henderson also produced Gerald Alston of The Manhattans, his aunt Shirley Alston Owens of The Shirelles, and Danny Flowers. It’s no secret that North Carolina has a very substantial history of music and we LOVE learning about the musical history of each and every town we visit.
Whenever we visit Henderson we make SURE to stop by the incredible Sadie’s Coffee , which is a cute little coffee spot in the center of Downtown Henderson. They have bagels flown in from NYC, delicious fair-trade coffee, and a really nice area to chat, work or read. We also always make sure to stop by the Supply Line Market when we can! Supply Line is full of all sorts of incredible local merchants where one can pick up a nice little souvenir or a whole cow, depending on your needs. If you ever find yourself stopping into Henderson, we highly suggest you check out these awesome local gems.
Henderson is also a very close drive to Kerr Lake which has several very nice state parks and amenities nearby, which is always very nice for a picnic or a nice walk or train to clear your head. If you plan to get married in Henderson, make sure to reach out to us and we’ll give you a solid list of fun things to do in the area and places to check out.

We couldn’t have picked a more beautiful North Carolina summer day for our event this past Saturday. With a gorgeous, rustic pavilion and beautiful greenery as the backdrop for the ceremony, your photographers are sure to find the perfect shots during your big day.
Our Bride and Groom decided on our super popular Jason Huggins Signature Package which includes a ceremony up to 6 hours, 2 subwoofers, a custom GOBO (monogram in light), 16 advanced dynamic uplights, cake lighting, enhanced dance floor lighting, one of our amazing photo booths, custom audio production, enhanced bridal party introductions and more.
We ensured that each separate setup was put together well before the event took place for a seamless transition. As one of North Carolina’s premier wedding and event DJ companies, we pride ourselves on ensuring that each step of the event process is executed seamlessly on our end. We are so very blessed to have been surrounded by an absolutely extraordinary wedding planning team for this particular wedding. Having a great wedding planner makes all the difference in the world to ease the typical wedding stresses.

Now, let’s talk about the PARTY. Our wedding DJs take a painstaking amount of time to prepare for each and every single wedding we are booked for. We meet with each of our clients to discuss exactly what kind of wedding they want. Elegant? Boho Chic? Multi-Cultural? Party until you just HAVE to take your shoes off? Discoteque? Laidback instrumentals? 90’s pop party complete with entire NSYNC discography? We can do it all and we can do it well. Not only do we work extremely hard to ensure we meet YOUR vision, but we also LOVE our work immensely. Whether you want to walk down the aisle or into your reception to Abba’s “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” or John Legend’s “All Of Me” – we’ve got you covered. You can even pick your own cake-cutting song!
Throughout the meeting process, our wedding DJs will work hard to get a better understanding of your musical tastes along with your families and guests’ general preferences. If you have any MUST HAVE songs or genres through the night, we will have it on hand to drop at the exact right time of the night. If you have any “NO WAY” songs or genres, we will put them on a DO NOT PLAY list and make sure they stay off the dance floor. Our DJ’s WILL take requests, and if something is requested that we don’t already have on hand – we will use our vast resources to track it down for you and your guests. We also have resources to help you pick songs for specific parts of the wedding. You can choose from the Top Wedding Songs or our DJ’s can help you find something else more your style and speed if you are unable to find anything you love on the list.
Here’s what our couple decided on for their dances:
Married Couple’s First Dance: Then – Brad Paisley
Father/Daughter Dance: Cinderella  Steven Curtis Chapman
Groom/Mother Dance: Simple Man – Lynyrd Skynyrd
Last Dance – Ne-Yo and Pitbull – Give Me Everything
With the Signature Package our couple chose for this event, we included cake lighting, enhanced floor lighting, lots of killer SOUND, a SUPER fun Photo Booth (it was a BIG HIT), and more. We took our time setting up to match the rustic theme of the wedding and worked with the Bride and Groom alongside the wedding planner to ensure our visions aligned.
Everyone danced the night away and enjoyed great fellowship after this harrowing year of Covid-19 lockdown.

Remember, a great wedding DJ that understands how to read a crowd and has a massively diverse playlist can be the difference between “just a wedding” and a “GREAT wedding!”. Let us help you #SaveYourWedding.
