I am so thankful that we discovered Stylus DJ's in time for our wedding. Eric was exactly the DJ that we were looking for because he knows how to keep the dance floor moving! We told him that we wanted high energy and that's exactly what we got! Our dance floor was packed from start to finish. He never let a song linger too long before mixing out and moving on to yet another hot beat! Our friends have already reserved him for their wedding in November, and some of our guests have asked how they can get into that wedding to hear the DJ spin again! (Yes - He was that good!)
Eric was friendly, professional, and did a great job of helping us put together an unforgettable night. He was always quick to respond and was even available via text message. He was very thorough with his preparation for both the ceremony and the reception (he covered both for our wedding). He provided us with suggestions when we needed them and on the day of the wedding, Eric was on point - he arrived early, dressed professionally, and got everything set up at both the ceremony site and reception with time to spare. Little did we know, he even worked with our wedding party behind the scenes to orchestrate the best toast/skit/roast ever!
In addition to music, Eric also provided us with additional lighting, sound equipment and a GoBo. It worked perfectly for us, but added to the cost. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't change a thing. However, don't be put off by our package because we definitely added quite a few extras.
I will definitely be calling Eric again for the next party and would recommend him to everyone I know.Hayley
Amazing DJ!!! Eric literally drove through Hurricane Matthew to get to my wedding and did a phenomenal job! He always got right back to me when I emailed him and helped me with all the details! He was a huge part of why my "hurricane wedding" still ran smoothly!! Thank you Stylus!!!!EvanMary Kait and ChrisJennifer
We are a pretty weird couple and had really specific desires for our reception. Stylus DJ was recommended by another friend, and after interviewing several DJs, we selected DJ Animal (Eric Mills). We asked him to combine Jewish culture, Star Wars references, and Hip Hop/Latin music, which is incredibly specific and not necessarily conducive to a flowing dance party. We also outlined a super-detailed Top Gun-themed entrance music for the bridal party, which we worried would be a disaster because we had so many planned parts, and any one of them could have failed. How we were wrong. DJ Animal NAILED the vibe we were after. He pronounced every single person’s name correctly, hosted hilarious games and soul train dances, and kept the party going for five solid amazing hours. He read the crowd perfectly. The older folks boogied with the younger folks, and the younger folks could never sit for long when another great song was on cue. When he finished, everyone stayed on the dance floor and begged for more. He had to excuse himself and turn the lights on before people accepted the party was over. It was Exactly the party I wanted.David Dombrowski
We hired DJ Animal/Eric Mills through Stylus S.E. to DJ our wedding, and we can’t say enough positive things. My wife and I had our wedding reception at a Raleigh Brewery with about 125 guests, many of them in their 20′s-30′s. We knew it was important to have the right DJ to keep things moving, especially since we wanted to have a non-stop reception meaning no sit-down meal, no pause for cake cutting, etc., and Eric did an amazing job keeping the crowd on their feet. From the beginning, he was very interested in what our tastes/needs were and he delivered on all of them. He also did a great job of reading the crowd and adjusting as necessary. DJ Animal (Eric) also plays local night clubs and does work for the radio, so he is a pro at being a legit DJ– he was not just play one song after another, but when the dance floor really got going, he was mixing songs together on the fly. You could tell he is really passionate about what he does. He even knew that I am a huge Back to the Future fan and mixed in a few sound bytes that he had prepared. Eric also handled some lighting for us– we had uplighting done on all of the brewery tanks as well as around the perimeter of the space. It really helped set the tone of the wedding and made it feel more like an event versus being in a large warehouse. If you want to have an amazing wedding, I believe you need three things that will make or break it: 1. Amazing & fun friends/family 2. Open bar 3. Excellent DJ. Go ahead and check off #3 on the list and hire Eric Mills, then congratulate yourselves on being a smart bride and groom!KarenChristopher
Holy cow- Animal/Eric was the best in the business no doubt. We were set from the beginning the Dj was one of the top two most important thing to us (Dj and photographer). I can't tell you how many guest were amazed by him. Everyone had a BALL. He isn't the Dj that just hops from one song to the next. We wanted a party and that's what he delivered. His talent of mixing songs is unbelievable. From his meetings before hand, to his intro's coming into the reception, to the very last song he hit it all! We had him combine two songs for our first dance, it was perfect. Then little did I know he convinced my now husband to come in about two weeks before the wedding and add a personalized touch to the end of our song, of him talking to me and reading my favorite Bible verse (talk about sobbing on the dance floor!). Beyond the personal touches he has also got to be the most organized DJ on the planet. Their software - so amazing. It doesn't let you forget anything. Looking up songs to add to your playlist straight from their site. Adding songs to your itinerary (also on their site).. Our wedding planner was impressed- you could tell she wasn't used to having a DJ as organized as this. If you look elsewhere - you're nuts! Any event I'm told about his name will def be HIGHLY recommended. He was a huge part of making that night the wedding of my dreams!Kayle and Alan
I met and booked Stylus at a bridal show after getting a great sense of how fun all of the guys on staff are. The online planning tools were really helpful as we began trying to organize our ideas on song selections and the flow of our reception. The song suggestion lists helped point us in the right direction whenever we felt stuck. By the time we sat down for our final meeting with DJ Erica "Animal" Mills, we had a good sense of what we wanted and Eric knew how to give us helpful suggestions to fill in the final details. Eric took the time to get to know us and craft our ceremony music to be an expression of us as a couple. When the big day arrived, Eric and his assistant were extremely fun and helpful. Eric was setup behind a curtain during the ceremony and was out of site, but yet the music was cued perfectly for all of the entrances and throughout the ceremony. Once the reception got going, our guests had a blast. The uplighting added great ambiance. Eric checked in with us periodically throughout the night to make sure the timeline events were being paced the way we wanted. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Everything about working with them was fun and they delivered exceptional service and energy to our event.DanielleKristin and Emily
I worked with Eric at a wedding last weekend and I have to say (having photographed many weddings) that he was one of the best DJs I have experienced. A DJ can really make or break a reception and I've seen it go both ways. It's important to have a DJ that is responsive to the guests and Eric did that. What was really unique was his skills mixing songs. Most DJs play an entire song and fade it into the next. He was laying songs on top of each other and I could tell by the guests' faces that they were impressed and definitely having fun. Plus, Eric was respectful of my job as the photographer and was sure to consult with me before anything major happened so that I was ready for it. I look forward to working with Eric again in the future!HayleyCynthia
